Save Water: Wash your hands in the Toilet!

The Caroma Profile

Caroma has long been the world’s leader in dual flush toilets, and now they have taken water-savings to a whole new level. By incorporating a hand-washing basin right into the tank of their toilet, Caroma has made it easy for people to conserve even more.

They started with a High-Efficiency Dual Flush Toilet (two flush options: 0.8 gallons for liquids, and 1.28 gallons for solids) and changed the design of the tank so that water refilling the tank is first routed through a faucet at the top, making that clean water available for hand washing. As the water from your hand washing goes down the drain of the basin, it goes directly into tank to be used next time you flush the toilet.

Hard to imagine? Here’s an image of the inside of the tank so you can see how it works:

Caroma Profile 2

On top of making use of hand-washing-wastewater for flushing, Caroma dual flush toilets use less water to begin with. With an average flush of just 1 gallon, Dual Flush toilets reduce water consumption by 40-70 percent. Just imagine the water savings when the water from your hand washing gets recycled on top of it all!

Want even better news? Right now  through 10/18/2009 the Caroma Profile is just $399.99 – that’s $100 off the regular price! Come in and check it out!

The Caroma Profile is a certified High Efficiency, WaterSense toilet – and has received the Popular Mechanics “Product Breakthrough” award for innovative design and engineering.

I would be interested in this product but only heard about it today from my sister. I live in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Do you have a distributor here or do you ship to Canada. Could I still take advantage of your special?

  2. Hi Margo!

We can certainly ship it to you in Canada – though we couldn’t be responsible for any duties or border fees as it goes across. Also, the more toilets you order, the more efficient the shipping costs will be, so if you have friends who are interested in ordering some, we recommend you order, and have them shipped, all together!

You should give our call center a buzz and talk to them about the details, 1-800-281-9785.

    Hey,

I couldn’t see in the info if the sink offers warm water as well as cold. I was also wondering if you can turn the sink on without flushing. And about how much would it cost to ship to utah?

    Thanks

  4. Hi Shelese,

The sink does not have warm water, and you must flush the toilet in order to make the sink work – most people use this as a complement to the bathroom sink – using the washbasin on the toilet only after flushing.

For shipping rates please call 1-800-281-9785.

    Thanks!

Is it to possible to buy the Caroma Profile in Europe?

    #1082
    • Good Question Frank!

It seems like you should be able to find it in Europe. Dual Flush Toilets became popular in Europe years before they hit the States. And we have heard that the Profile is available in Japan too… As to where you’d look to buy one in Europe, you might try contacting Caroma directly? They should have lists of their dealers available.
